Palm Frond Sledding (Tarik Upih) Hills and fronds, a leafy ride, grass stained knees and beaming pride. Nature’s slide, no toys to buy. Just kids and slopes beneath the sky.

JUNE

Kite Flying (Wau) Threads like wishes tug the breeze, bright tails flutter through the trees. Who’s soars highest, who cuts free? A sky of kites, wild and carefree.

JULY

Spinning Top (Gasing) Spin it fast, let it twirl, circles dance, wood and whirl. Crowds gather, shouts ring loud, a champion spinner, forever proud.

AUGUST

Playing Congkak (Main Congkak) Seeds click- clack in wooden rows. Counting, plotting, how it goes. Shade and chatter, shells in hand, little minds in playful land.

SEPTEMBER

Rubber Band Jump (Lompat Getah) Elastic loops between small feet. Jumping high to tricky beat. Patterns made with laughing eyes, skipping games ‘neath open skies.

OCTOBER

Hopscotch (Ketingting) Chalked out squares on dusty ground, pebbles tossed, the kids rebound. Hop, skip, giggle - miss a line? Try again - we’ve endless time.

NOVEMBER

Tin Can Phones (Telefon Tin) Strings of secrets, can to can, whispers travel, friend to friend. Voices dance through tin and wire. Childhood’s simplest, purest choir.

DECEMBER

Sack Race (Lompat Dalam Guni) Bags up to our little waists, bouncing, tumbling, silly chase. Fall and rise, we race and cheer, together closer every year.
